Computerized Accounting

Computerized Accounting

The 21st century can be described as the social media and computer age wherein almost everything goes through the computer before consumption. In the past accounting was done on papers and it involved lengthy sessions favoured by manual calculations which ensured that figures could be missed especially when fatigue sets in. As technology has advanced, computerized accounting is presented as a remedy to the old and lengthy system of balancing data.

The programme is streamlined to equip students with accounting skills closely knitted into the computer such that a graduate need not take computer lessons to practice his/her profession. Students are embedded in computerized accounting software which enables easy calculation and safe time and space. The programme runs for a calendar year and involves both theory and practical sessions. It is sanctioned at the end by the award of a Diploma in Computerised Accounting recognized by the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training. It is opened to holders of at least the GE Ordinary Level certificate.
