Marketing

Marketing

In time past, the marketing of products was based on a trade by barter scheme. However, with a growing economy and the institutionalization of economics as an academic discipline, as well as mounting competition for the limited resources, the presentation of goods and services for public consumption became a point of focus.

The programme seeks to equip students with knowledge to make known a product or service to the public, make love the product or service and make it consumed by members of the public. To arrive at this, courses such as communication, business techniques, mathematics, negotiation, publicity etc are being taught.

It is opened to holders of at least a GCE Ordinary Level. However, Advanced Level and Degree holders are also admitted for those who want to make their cv more competitive or for capacity building.

It runs for a period of one year and involves both theory and practical session sanctioned by a Diploma in Marketing recognized by the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training.

Employment Opportunities

Marketers are highly demanded in business enterprises including banks, financial houses, microfinance establishments, national and multinational companies of all sorts. They are also solicited by media houses especially at the commercial desk.
