There is so much ambiguity in the harmonization and management of figures especially financial in institutions and organization when it is not in the hands of skilled experts. This delicate but complex task is the privileged of trained Accountants who ensure that the financial flow of every institution is balanced in output and input, income and expenditure.

Structure of studies and duration

Accountancy is a social science discipline that deals with social organisations and organizational finances of input and output, income and expenditure. This advanced degree programme is opened to holders of at least a Bachelor degree in Accountancy, Banking and Finance or any related topic. It is designed to answer the worries of top management staff in companies, institutions and organisations, public and private, national and international. In order to answer this problematic the programme gives a detailed approach to issues such mathematics, accounting, statistics, finance, project management, information management, public finance, organizational behavior etc. It runs for four semesters and strictly professional with courses directly connected to fieldwork. It culminates with the defense of an end of course thesis by the student as requirements for the award of a Master of Business Administration (Professional Master’s Degree) degree in Accountancy by the University of Bamenda and recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education.

Employment Opportunities

Accountants are employed in almost all sectors of public life including but not limited to Schools, hospitals, military, police, financial institutions, banks, microfinance establishments, business entreprises, companies, national and international organisations etc. It is one of the most popular fields of studies with employment opportunities almost everywhere. The Master’s degree easily paves the way for graduates to climb to top management positions especially with some years of experience.
