Human Resource Management

Human Resource Management

As the world mutates into a fast track episode, several career opportunities are also being born including Human Resource Management. It seeks to answer the question of recruitment, management, motivation, follow-up and evaluation of members of staff of any entity.

At its inception few years ago, it was considered a course to train only workers for the corporate world. However, with the growing need for efficiency and cost effective methods of management of staffs, religious bodies and civil society organisations have also been soliciting holders of knowledge and certificates in Human Resource Management. Moreover, governmental and state services have also become consumers of such products.

Some of the course include communication, how to manage conflict among staffs, accounting, business management, government and administration.

The programme runs for a year and includes both theory and practical sessions. It is sanctioned by the award of a Diploma in Human Resource Management recognized by the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training. It is opened to holders of at least the GCE Ordinary Level certificate.

Employment Opportunities

Holders of certificates in HRM can work anywhere in the world, from corporate bodies to state institutions to religious and civil society organisations. Majority of these institutions now have human resource departments which consumes holders of certificates in HRM.
