Local Government Taxation

Local Government Taxation

The centralization of governmental services has proven to be a burden to both the government and its citizens who have to cover hundreds of kilometres to meet a government service. Centralization leads to slowness in decision making with the adverse effect of slowness in its execution. Most societies today are opting for decentralized services including Cameroon with about 360 local council areas and administration. These local councils and governments depend on skilled staff in the domain of local government especially in matters of taxation which is its principal source of revenue.
