Project Management

Development at any level and angle comes in the form of projects with a huge demand on project designers, evaluators, managers, supervisors. The programme is streamlined to equip students with knowledge of project conception, execution, monitoring and evaluation. Therefore a bonafide graduate from this programme can integrate a project circle at any level and any type including building, road construction, repairs, service, supply of materials, communication projects etc.

Studies and Duration

Focus is placed on communication, government and politics, project conception, project monitoring, project evaluation, project circle, project finance etc. The programme is opened to holders of the GCE Advanced Level certificate in at least two subjects excluding Religious Knowledge and runs for two academic years. It involves theory and practical sessions including a supervised internship. It is sanctioned by the defense of an end of course project by each student and the national exam as requirements for the award of a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Project Management by the Ministry of Higher Education.

Employment Opportunities

Since projects exist in all domains of human life, graduates can work anywhere in the world and in any project. Graduates can be employed under long term contracts, contracts with indefinite duration or temporal contracts to execute specific projects. They are also solicited by NGOs and international organisations to execute, monitor or evaluate projects. Some are also recruited to serve as Programme Managers of Organisations and institutions.
